In a way, it is like reading a 'how to play tennis' book written by a great coach, like Nick Bollettieri as opposed to one written by a great player like Andre Agassi.
What we gain from Burgers' objective outsider's point of view helps us to zone in on the practical "back to basic" issues and other "wow I never thought about that before" insights that are often overlooked by the marketing managers who are performing the tasks.
What the book lacks then, is the detailed account how one can accomplish their business goals while combating the particular threats unique to an industry or business segment.
